Only 16 days after we announced the Hour of Code, we just crossed 1 million students planning to participate during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 9-15, 2013), with almost 7,000 total Hour of Code events, and over 1,500 “entire school” participants.
The Hour of Code is a campaign to demystify code by recruiting schools, teachers and parents across the country to introduce students to computer science for one hour. We’ll provide tutorials for all ages that can be done on computers, tablets, smartphones, or even “unplugged.”
It is now on track to be the largest online education event in history, proving that the demand for relevant 21st century computer science education crosses all borders and knows no boundaries.
